Paul-René Albertini started his career as a successful entrepreneur in the independent live concert promotion and recording sectors in 1982. In 1984 he joined Polygram France and rose through the ranks to become Chief Executive Officer of leading French label Polygram Disques. In 1995, Albertini became President and CEO of Sony Music France. He was promoted to Executive Vice President of London based Sony Music Entertainment Europe. From 2002, Albertini was appointed President of Warner Music International where, from the London headquarters, later becoming the company’s Chairman and CEO. In 2007, Paul-René left Warner Music and set up a consulting practice providing services to the music industry and private equity companies in the UK, Germany and Japan. He also oversaw the development of several digital platforms in Japan and the UK via Square-Media International whilst developing an expertise in Angel and Seed investments via Sushi Ventures Partners. In 2016 Sushi Ventures launched the MusicTech accelerator Marathon Artists Labs, via one of its portfolio companies Marathon Artists Independent Group. MAIG combines in its growth stage the most innovative independent artists and music entrepreneurs marketing and business development platform under Paul-Rene’s direct supervision and management.
