Julian is currently the Chief Information Officer at the London Fire Brigade. Having joined the Brigade in 2003, Julian has held three roles in service support and departmental management, culminating in his current CIO position.
Responsible for all ICT service provision to nearly 6000 users at over 100 sites in London, Julian has a team of over 100 staff, providing the full spectrum of ICT services, for probably the busiest Fire Service in the country.
Julian grew up in Cornwall where he trained as a COBOL programmer, before moving to the Thames Valley early in his career. Prior to joining the Brigade, Julian worked as a software engineer , before broadening his experience and taking on both technical and leadership positions in the telecoms and local government sectors.
