Employed at Fujitsu Network Communications, Inc. for 19 years, Dashella Taylor is the Optical Business Unit Director of Product Line Management with job responsibilities that include managing optical and Ethernet network products, which are sold to major telecommunications carriers. These products are part of a class of very high-bandwidth, high-speed technology that is used to carry voice, video and data communications across enterprise campuses, as well as across cities, regions or even countries. She collaborates with sales teams to support new product launches and identify critical customer product requirements; she works closely with research and development on key product features
Higher education began at Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she earned a bachelor’s of science degree in electrical engineering. In addition, she holds a master’s of business administration in marketing management from the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas. Her inspirations for career direction came from family and her love for mathematics and science, which began at a young age. Her mother also played a major role in inspiring her, as she was a high school mathematics teacher. As an undergraduate, Dashella was exposed to engineering as a career while interning for various companies, including General Motors, Exxon Mobile and Alcatel.
In her current role as Director of Product Line Management, the ability to provide both tactical and strategic guidance to internal and external customers, along with the ability to prioritize and negotiate product features, communicate with cross-functional organizations, continually maintain attention to detail, organize assets and be diligent in working for customers’ success. To date, her most notable project was introduction of the next generation in telecommunications networking, a product based on unique Fujitsu technology known as Packet Optical Networking.
Dashella is married to Troy, who is also in Telecommunications and they have three children.
