Michael Heffner joined ADVA Optical Networking in January 2016 as part of ADVA’s acquisition of Overture Networks. Michael serves as the Vice President of Product Line Management for ADVA’s Edge Cloud software business unit. In this role, Michael is responsible for defining ADVA’s NFV and SDN product strategy and solution architecture through direct engagement with customers, partners and industry analysts. In addition to managing the product strategy, Michael is also responsible for driving the ADVA Edge Cloud Professional Services and Customer Support teams, partner ecosystem and open source engagement strategy.

Michael’s 27+ year telecom career spans roles in R&D, solutions architecture, product marketing and product management at a variety of companies including Oracle, Tekelec, Tektronix, Nortel and Motorola. Michael holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University.
