UPDATE 4.28
We hope this finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy during this time. As the world navigates the extraordinary circumstances that we are facing, I wanted to check-in with our community and address the inquiries we’ve received in relation to Startup Elevate 2020.
We continue to monitor key developments in the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and will follow the guidance of health officials, the State of California and County of Santa Clara on when events can safely resume and in what format. We believe in the power of gathering our community to share, inspire, and strengthen our industry and are committed to being that resource in 2020. While we are proceeding with caution towards an in-person event, with extensive biosecurity plans underway, we are also developing robust digital options in case we need to adjust to circumstances beyond our control. Our goal is to provide the community with the same great learning and networking opportunities as we have every year, while adding digital elements to allow our attendees to participate in a way that they are comfortable with.
Lastly, we know that the entire IoT industry has been affected, one way or another, by the COVID-19 crisis. We realize the tremendous impact this situation has had on the supply chains and business models of businesses and individuals and know that our community is working overtime to utilize IoT developments in both the fight against COVOID-19 and the transition into our new normal, fuelled by connected technologies. Thank you to all those working to progress IoT developments while the outside world remains uncertain. We are working on ways to support our community during this time and will provide more information on how we are doing so soon.
For future updates regarding Startup Elevate USA, please check back on this COVID-19 landing page as we will update this information regularly.
Kind Regards,
Zach Butler, Portfolio Director, IoT, Informa Tech
Update 4.14
We understand that this is a difficult time for many. Right now, we are focusing on the future and are hopeful that conditions will improve allowing Startup Elevate to take place this August.
The health and wellbeing of the Startup Elevate community is our top priority therefore our planning efforts for the August event include increased cleaning/sanitation, hygiene advocacy, increased availability to medical staff, travel restriction mitigation, physical distancing measures and modified food service, to name a few.
As Startup Elevate draws closer, we will be in a better position to share specific details around onsite protocols that take into account the current health situation.
UPDATE 3.11: STARTUP ELEVATE IS OFFICIALLY POSTPONED AND RESCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 11 - 13, 2020
On March 9, the County of Santa Clara issued an order to cancel gatherings over 1,000 attendees up until April 1, 2020. On March 10, the local state of emergency was extended to April 9, but the order on cancelling large gatherings remains at April 1.
Despite Startup Elevate occurring after the timeframe of the current order, the situation around COVID-19 is evolving rapidly as are your corporate travel considerations. After close consultation with our partners in the IoT community, and as part of our Managed Postponement Program we have made the difficult decision to postpone Startup Elevate and rescheduled for August 11 - 13, 2020.
Having spent the past year preparing for the event with our advisors, speakers, exhibitors and event partners, we’re genuinely disappointed not to be able to host you as planned in April, but the experience and safety of our community and everyone involved in the event continues to be our top priority.
Startup Elevate has officially been rescheduled to the dates of Tuesday August 11 – Thursday August 13, 2020 at the San Jose Convention Center. Exhibitors, Speakers and Attendees will be contacted imminently with further information.
We understand there will be a lot of questions and concerns following this announcement.
For attendees, we will automatically transfer your registration to the August event. For questions and concerns, please contact iotevent@informa.com.
For exhibitors and sponsors, we will transfer your program to the August event. Your Account Manager will be reaching out personally this week to discuss your immediate questions. We continue to work diligently to ensure all details are buttoned down and we thank you for your patience.
As always, we would like to thank everyone who helps to make the event possible and recognize that our event does not happen without your support. We appreciate the open discussions and encouragement. The conversations we’ve had over the last several days have proven how lucky we all are to be part of this supportive industry.
Thank you,
Zach Butler, Portfolio Director, IoT, Informa Tech
