Smitashree is a global HR leader and has been a strong advocate of Diversity and Inclusion in her more than two decades of multi-cultural experience in the People business.

Smita is the Founder and CEO, the boardiQ (www.theboardiQ.com), a technology platform that aims to harness the goodness of Artificial Intelligence
and Machine Learning in removing Algorithmic and Unconscious Bias in the Search, Discovery, Match, Selection and Onboarding of Inclusive Talent on to Boards and Executive Roles.

Prior to this role, Smita was Consulting Principal at Positive Moves, a Global Executive Search firm, based out of SF Bay Area.

Smita has also spent a decade with Motorola (Motorola Inc / Motorola Google / Motorola Lenovo) and was the Global HR Director of Motorola Mobility’s Software Organization and also led the Diversity and Inclusion and HR Program Management portfolios globally for them. She was also the Asia Pacific and Country HR leader for Motorola including serving on the Boards of Motorola’s legal entities in India.

Before Motorola, Smita was the Country HR Director for MetLife, where she was instrumental in driving the people strategy in a high growth phase for the company. Smita also headed Human Resources for the India Engineering Center
of Sun Microsystems, overseeing the organic growth of the center from a startup phase to becoming the largest development center for Sun outside of the US.

Prior to Sun, Smita headed Human Resources for Phoenix Global Solutions (a 100% owned subsidiary of Phoenix Home Life, headquartered at Connecticut, US), which was later on acquired by TCS. Prior to Phoenix, Smita has also been Manager, Human Resources for IBM in India.

Smita has completed her Masters in Business Administration (PGDM) from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar and has an accreditation in Global Leadership from Smith College, Northampton, Massachusetts, USA.
