Andy was appointed Director of IBM’s business across UK Central Government and the Devolved Assemblies in September 2017. He leads a team of Client Executives that are responsible for managing client relationships and positioning IBM’s capability to support the Government’s Transformation and Innovation Strategies. He is focused on helping Government Departments digitally transform, through business process re-design and automation, service innovation, application modernisation and migration to the Cloud. During his career, he has held a variety of leadership positions across the portfolio of Enterprise and Application Software, he has run a System Integration Practice, and led IBM's Cloud Software business. He has worked with clients across multiple Industry Sectors in the UK and Europe, and as such has experience of the challenges facing organisations as they adapt and transform their business models and supporting technology.
Andy was elected to TechUK’s Central Government Board in January 2019 which aims to help Industry and Government collaborate more effectively.
Andy lives in Putney with his wife and 2 children. He is a keen sportsman and represented Great Britain at Swimming in the Olympic Games in 1980 and 1984 and England at the Commonwealth Games in 1976 and 1982.
