Angola – new satellite new opportunities

Infrasat started as a multi sectorial Communication Project to provide better communication for Government and public institutions and to reduce info exclusion in the country, take communications to the most remote areas. It soon evolved into the first Satellite business unit of Angola Telecom and has now became an independent Government owned Satellite company.
Angola is rapidly growing and this reinforces the need for reliable and high quality communications, without geographical limitations. Aware of this, in September 2008 Infrasat was launched as a Business Unit of Angola Telecom, responsible for managing all satellite services portfolio.
Inaugurated by the president José Eduardo dos Santos, Infrasat had the challenge to make communication easily accessible to the most remote areas of the countries as well as work very closely with the mobile operators providing backhaul solutions for the expansion of 2G and 3G mobile service nationwide.
