Francisco Sant’Anna is currently the Industry Marketing Director at Ciena. In this role, his global responsibilities include providing thought leadership on artificial intelligence and sustainability. His role involves market research, subject matter expertise, and Ciena content creation on market trends and solutions.

With over 25 years of experience in the tech/telecom industry, Francisco has had various leadership roles. Prior to joining Ciena in 2018, Francisco was the Director of ICT Solutions and Business Development at Oi, a tier-1 service provider in Brazil. Throughout his time at Oi, he also served as National Director of Sales Engineering, Senior Manager of New ICT Business and Value-Added Solutions, and Senior Manager of Product Marketing. In these roles, he led B2B marketing and sales organizations in various capacities.

Francisco holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical and telecommunications engineering and a master's degree in communications systems from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. He also earned his MBA from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Multilingual in English, Portuguese, French, and Spanish, he now resides in Toronto, Ontario.
