Rob Alderfer focuses on technology-related public policy issues, including helping Charter to close the digital divide, free spectrum for new wireless services, grow the performance and energy efficiency of Charter’s network and bolster the security of the internet. Prior to his current position, Mr. Alderfer was the Vice President of Technology Policy and Vice President of Technology Strategy at CableLabs. Rob founded CableLabs’ technology policy organization, working with cable operators in the United States and across the globe to address critical policy priorities for broadband and wireless connectivity, cybersecurity, and other areas. Rob previously was the Chief Data Officer in the Federal Communications Commission’s Wireless Telecommunications Bureau and a Technology Policy Analyst & Program Examiner at the White House Office of Management and Budget in the Obama and Bush administrations.
