Our aim is to challenge the way the world views a woman’s period. Wearing a sanitary pad does not only improve a woman’s physical health, it will also restore her dignity. The core focus of our initiative is to make sure that women and girls have a dignified period. Too many girls cannot afford or access sanitary pads, which means that when they get their period, they have to turn to unhealthy alternatives like dirty rags, old socks, or wet newspaper. No woman or girl should have to choose between food and sanitary pads. One issue is non-affordable sanitary pads mixed with menstrual taboo and the culture of silence that surrounds it.
The thought of using a toilet with no toilet paper is disturbing. As humans, men and woman alike, we all must get rid of human waste. How fortunate we are to have free access to toilet paper in all public toilets, be it a mall, university, park, school etc. While toilet paper is considered a basic necessity, why is it that woman do not have access to sanitary pads to get rid of her human waste. It’s not a luxury to bleed. We aim to remove menstrual stigmatization by making pads as normal as a piece of toilet paper. We aim to put sanitary pads on a roll – and sell them in the same category as toilet paper. Our ultimate goal is to make toilet pad rolls available in all public places just like toilet rolls.
