Profile
With over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications and technology industry, Matthias Budde takes on the role of senior strategist spearheading the alignment of strategies for substantial impact and digital transformation with a strong impetus toward product and business model innovation. Matthias was recently appointed to Senior Vice President (SVP) of Corporate Strategy & Strategic Alliances at AT&T, where he is responsible for driving the strategy across consumer, business, technology, and corporate functions.
Prior to AT&T, Matthias spent more than 9 years as SVP at Deutsche Telekom AG, where he was responsible for Group Strategy and Transformation, driving visible results. Under his strategy leadership, the company’s market cap grew from €55 billion to €100 billion, as he developed DT’s “Leading European Telco” and “Leading Digital Telco” strategies. Before this role, he spent 14 years at Bain & Company as Vice President and Partner, in charge of “Technology, Telecommunications & Media” in Germany and Switzerland, and two years as a Senior Consultant within Ernst & Young’s IT-Strategy Group.
Matthias completed the Executive Education Program at Stanford University and holds a Master’s in Business and Computer Science from the Otto-Friedrich University of Bamberg. He brings his German roots to Dallas, Texas, and is excited to begin this new adventure with his wife Manuela, and three daughters, Anna, Lisa, and Sara. In his free time, he enjoys cycling, skiing, and cooking.
