Olli is a seasoned executive in wireless technology, with over 20 years of experience in pioneering business development, technology innovation, and solutions within the communications industry. As a CTO at the Telecom Infra Project (TIP), he leads TIP’s Project Groups and technology initiatives, including OpenRAN, OpenWifi, Open Optical Packet Transport, and TelcoAI, all aimed at driving significant advancements in the wireless sector.
Throughout his career, Olli has held prominent roles at Nokia, where he directed global innovation programs at Nokia Bell Labs, served as CTO and head of the Nokia Smart Lab in South Korea, and managed the Silicon Valley Innovation Center. His teams have been at the forefront of developing cutting-edge wireless communication systems, robotics, and novel human sensory and control devices for future 5G and 6G networks. Olli also led Nokia's Mission to the Moon program, which is focused on establishing a 4G communications system on the lunar surface. Before joining TIP, he spent three years building a start-up dedicated to Open RAN Radio Units (O-RU).
Olli holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) degree in Telecommunications and an MBA from the Helsinki University of Technology's Executive School of Business.
