Tim Fell is the executive leader of the Networking Technology & Services team, with leadership accountability for driving the cloud-based evolution of next generation broadband networks as well as TELUS’ journey to Autonomous Networks, rooted in customer experience excellence. His team’s mandate includes establishing a roadmap and rapidly implementing cloud-based, secure, reliable and automated networks that help TELUS drive new opportunities, improve the customer experience, and unlock total cost of ownership and sustainability improvements. Prior to his current position, Tim led the Future Friendly Technology Services team, responsible for technology development and operations for TELUS’ Video, Home Networks, Digital Life and SmartHome Security technologies. In this role, Tim spearheaded the launch of TELUS’ reimagined Optik TV platform and the transformation of TELUS’ technology and DevOps teams to become leaders in the development of cloud-based platforms and applications using scaled Agile processes, an initiative that was identified as an Excellence in Industry Innovation finalist by the BC Tech Technology Impact Awards 2023.
During his tenure, Tim has held a variety of technical leadership positions across virtually all network technologies, and had end-to-end oversight from strategy and architecture to implementation planning and DevOps. In this capacity, he has shared executive insights on Agile, cloud-based technology evolution at global forums including the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) Show, and been featured in various publications and podcasts including TM Forum Inform and Innovation Magazine. As a passionate champion for creating an exceptional team culture, Tim has instituted industryfirst programs to drive world-leading engagement, and invested significantly to advance Diversity & Inclusiveness through one-of-a-kind initiatives addressing women in tech, Indigenous Reconciliation, Youth in STEM and neurodiversity awareness.
Tim’s leadership on D&I has been recognized through the prestigious Women in IT Awards - Ally of the Year Award in 2023. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the TELUS World of Science Edmonton, playing an active role in forging innovative community engagement opportunities. Tim holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alberta
