Viet Nguyen is the President of 5G Americas, the leading industry trade association dedicated to advancing 5G, 5G-Advanced, and the evolution toward 6G across the Americas. A seasoned technology and public affairs leader, Mr. Nguyen brings over two decades of experience spanning telecommunications, enterprise technology, media relations, and the public sector.

Prior to becoming President, Mr. Nguyen served as Vice President of Public Relations and Technology at 5G Americas, where he was the organization’s primary spokesperson and architect of integrated communications strategies. He led industry engagement across media, analyst relations, government, and international wireless organizations—amplifying the visibility of next-generation wireless technologies through thought leadership, technical content, and public advocacy.

Previously, he held communications leadership roles at Microsoft, where he drove global media and analyst relations in support of enterprise digital transformation, and at T-Mobile USA, where he managed network-related public relations and sensitive issues involving security and privacy. His background also includes early-stage innovation as part of the founding team at Spectrum Networks, Inc., a Seattle-based residential broadband startup serving high-density housing communities.

Before entering the technology sector, Mr. Nguyen served in local government as a legislative aide for the King County Council, focusing on land use and growth management. He has also managed numerous successful political campaigns in the Pacific Northwest.

An active civic contributor, Mr. Nguyen has served on the boards of the Washington News Council and Fremont Neighborhood Council, and on the communications committee for the Urban Land Institute.

Mr. Nguyen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Washington.
