Karin Baggström is co-founder and Chief Finance Officer (CFO) at STARZ PLAY (www.starzplay.com), the subscription video on demand service that streams to 20 countries across the Middle East and North Africa. As CFO at STARZ PLAY, Karin has been responsible for the development and implementation of the company’s financial strategy and operating model, playing a key role in securing investments, from the first seed investment to the later rounds, through to its subsequent growth and expansion. Karin has spent the best part of the last two decades working with technology start-ups throughout Europe and more recently in the MENA region.

In a former role, she co-founded and become the CFO of a taxi-app start-up that pioneered in Stockholm alongside a group of entrepreneurs. In 2012 she joined HBO Nordic, a joint venture between HBO Inc. and a Swedish technology services company. During the HBO Nordic time Karin created the core financial functions for the technology company and built financial models to raise equity. Karin spent her early career in different business verticals in Sweden including construction and SaaS companies. Karin currently resides in Dubai with her husband.
