Graham is the Deputy Chief Technology Officer and Chief Architect at the UK Intellectual Property Office. Graham is leading the UK IPO’s artificial intelligence operational initiatives as well as the IT lead on the IPO’s Transformation programme. Graham is actively engaged with the World IP Organisation and other IP Offices on future facing technologies such as AI, Blockchain, and APIs.
Graham has 10 years’ experience working in IT across multiple industries including finance, insurance, utilities, and government and has experience architecting and leading delivery of complex change programmes using emerging technologies to accelerate organisational transformation. Currently, Graham is supporting the UK IPO with their digital transformation programme to shift to a single platform for all IP rights with harmonised business processes. This incorporates use of SaaS and PaaS cloud technologies, containerisation, and off-the-shelf and bespoke machine learning algorithms.
Graham is on the UK IPO’s IP Futures Programme Board, a specialist initiative by the IPO to horizon scan for emerging technologies to look at policy and operational implications, current areas of focus for this board include Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence.
Graham has worked in both the UK and Australia and has degrees in Computer Science and Electronic Engineering as well as an MBA.
