Previous generations of mission critical telecommunication (fixed and mobile; citizen to PPDR and PPDR specific) have failed to address the requirements for a common interface standard between the telecoms solution and the PPDR organisation. This has led to a myriad of proprietary solutions to address these interconnectivity requirements resulting in many instances of sub-performance of PPDR operations. Furthermore, advances in ICT and related citizen expectation assume that PPDR organisations must surely possess the capability to move data within the community freely and quickly in order to deliver excellent critical service.
This project is concerned with the definition of missing standards for interfacing critical control rooms – particularly those related to PPDR operations – with each other, their international neighbours and the telecoms solutions on which they rely.
This workshop will review and confirm the draft Project Brief for this project and determine the work plan to fulfil the brief.
