Nick is the Head of the UK Telecoms Innovation Network (UKTIN), a consortium of Digital Catapult, WM5G, Cambridge Wireless and the University of Bristol, on a mission to reconnect the UK telecoms innovation ecosystem with itself and its global context. Prior to that he was the founder and CTO of ip.access, the pioneering cellular radio business from 2000 until its acquisition by Mavenir in 2020. During that period he was the Chair of the Radio and Physical Layer Working Group of the Small Cell Forum and he lays claim to originating FAPI. His name is on twenty patents, and a PhD thesis from University College London.
