Wally Swain has just joined Omdia as Principal Consultant Latin America with over 40 years’ experience in the telecom industry.

Omdia is a market-leading research and consulting business specialized in Telecoms, Media and Technology founded in the United Kingdom in 1970.

Wally comes to Omdia after sixteen years at Yankee Group and 451 Research, where he was Senior Vice President Emerging Markets, covering all aspects of the market but primarily operator strategies. He has done projects throughout the Americas, and in the Congo, Saudi Arabia and Vietnam. Previously, Wally spent 25 years in various senior executive positions with Comcel and Bell Canada.

He is an honorary life member of the Canada Colombia Chamber of Commerce (CCCC), having been Chairman of the Board for 13 years. For his efforts to promote trade between the two countries, Canada awarded him a Governor General’s Medal.

Swain holds an honors undergraduate degree and an M.A. degree in Mathematics (Statistics) from the University of Waterloo, Canada.
