Kate Dohaney is CEO of giffgaff and an executive leader known for her courageous approach to driving growth and building clarity and culture in competitive, high-growth environments. With a career spanning technology, media, and global business operations, she has built a reputation for helping great companies scale smarter, uniting commercial focus, operational excellence, and a deep belief in people.

Before joining giffgaff, Kate served as CEO of Orb Group, where she led the modernisation of a global technology platform, securing multi-million-dollar capital investment and driving triple-digit growth in shareholder value during her tenure.

Earlier in her career, she held senior leadership roles at News Corp and Dow Jones, where she helped expand Dow Jones' & The Wall Street Journal’s membership and live-events businesses and transformed its advertising and marketing creative teams to better connect brand, audience, and revenue. She also oversaw enterprise workplace and real-estate strategy across global markets, aligning people, technology, and space to strengthen collaboration and performance at scale.

As an active advocate for women in business, Kate regularly speaks at universities and leadership forums on expanding the pipeline of women in leadership, capital raising and deal-making, innovation, and modern leadership. She holds an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business, completed the Executive Leadership Program at Harvard Business School, and participated in the UCLA Anderson New Venture Incubator. Kate is passionate about lifelong learning, curiosity, and continued personal growth.

Outside of work, Kate is a proud mum to two daughters, a devoted reader of political and business literature, a podcast and music enthusiast, and an endurance athlete who believes in the power of grit, on and off the road
