Event Information
With the growth of traffic over their broadband pipes still surging due to COVID-19, cable operators are now accelerating moves to upgrade their hybrid fiber-coax (HFC) infrastructure with such transformative technologies as network virtualization and distributed access architecture (DAA). Indeed, both network virtualization and DAA are picking up speed as operators seek to expand the capacity and boost the efficiency of their networks; roll out new products and services; and slash space, power needs and costs.
But this transformation to next-gen networks is far from a simple task as cable technologists must overcome several major hurdles to bring network virtualization and DAA to light. In particular, tech experts are grappling with network reliability, scalability and powering issues as they make the upgrades from a centralized architecture with physical appliances to a distributed network with software-based functions in the cloud.
In this special SCTE Cable-Tec Expo online workshop, top cable technologists will tackle these topics, exploring how the cable HFC architecture is swiftly evolving to meet the demands of the new decade. In particular, our team of experts will discuss the industry’s latest DAA and virtualization initiatives, the hurdles they are encountering, the solutions they are trying out and the lessons they are learning from the field
