Daniel is currently a consultant at Old Dog Consulting and researcher at Lancaster University, working on Software Defined Networks (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualisation (NFV) applicability to optical Transport Networks, in partnership with British Telecom. He also obtained a Computer Science PhD and MBA from Lancaster University. He worked previously for leading technology companies including Cisco, Redback Networks, Movaz Networks and co-founded Aria Networks. Daniel is also an active leader and contributor to open standards, including the Internet Research Task Force (IRTF) and Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), Open Networking Foundation (ONF), and MEF. He is an editor and author on numerous journals, articles, specifications, Internet-Drafts and RFCs related to optical networking, deterministic path computation, traffic engineering and network optimisation, packet forwarding, SDN, NFV, and Application-Based Network Operations (ABNO).
