Gert has been working in product management roles in the optical communications industry for 20 years. At Coherent, he is responsible for digital coherent optics (DCO) transceivers. Previously he managed analog coherent optics (ACO) transceivers, coherent components, 40G transponders and tunable lasers at Finisar, acquired by II-VI (now Coherent) in 2019. Gert was a co-founder of Syntune in Sweden, acquired by Finisar in 2011, which is now Coherent’s leading fab for highly integrated InP components. Gert holds a PhD degree in Electronic Engineering from Ghent, University, Belgium.
