Profile

Gbenga is an Agribusiness Banking and Financial Services specialist with over 15-years experience across teaching Secondary school Agric Science, farming, produce handling, agribusiness training facilitation, commercial banking, corporate banking, agribusiness Banking and Export Finance.

His passion and core competencies are in proffering innovative solutions to the banking and financial needs of Agribusinesses; advising remedial measures for performance improvement/turnaround of delinquent agribusiness loans; providing advice on policy, strategy, operating efficiency and sustainable investment in Agribusiness; providing support on project planning, monitoring, performance evaluation and implementation management and; capacity building for performance driven agribusiness teams.

Gbenga has had the rare privilege of being involved in the renaissance of the Agribusiness banking and finance specialization in Nigeria since July 2011. Helped set-up the Agribusiness Banking Desk at Spring Bank Plc (now Heritage Bank Limited); worked with British and American consultants to set up Diamond Bank Plc's Agric Finance Desk; started and led the Agric Credit Analysis desk at FCMB; pioneered and coordinated an Agribusiness Advisory and Business Development Support Desk in FCMB, to provide bespoke financial solutions to Agribusiness Sector clients of the Bank’s Corporate and Institutional Banking Division. He also recently helped restructure and reposition the operations of Unity Bank Plc's Agribusiness Desk for effective service delivery on products and advisory channels.

Gbenga currently heads the Agribusiness and Export Finance Desk at Wema Bank Plc.

Aside from his regular day-job, Gbenga is passionate about helping young people make the best of the challenging situation in Nigeria to fulfilling their dreams and purpose in life.
