OPTICAL FIBRE CONNECTIVITY ENABLING SUBSEA, TERRESTRIAL, METRO & FTTH BROADBAND CAPACITY

The #1 Optical Networking Event Conference for Africa and part of the premier Optical Networking event series

A huge thank you to all those who attended NGON Africa 2017 in Cape Town.

About the event

The collaboration between different countries in Africa in extending optical networks across the continent is still in its infancy in many places. Stronger inter-government cooperation is required to achieve ubiquitous African interconnectivity. Network resiliency is needed to support tourism and mineral industries.

NGON Africa event builds on these discussions and with how traffic demand is being met? Are optical solutions right for Africa? How to create differentiation in progressive competitive markets? Is there a business case for new subsea and terrestrial builds in Africa? Power shifts, rural mobile broadband optical networking strategies and more on 400G field trails.

Following a successful 3rd event in Cape Town, the annual Next Generations Optical Networking Africa conference will return in February 2018. Watch this space for the updates on the venue and the dates.

NGON Africa shattered out-of-date expectations

"As an outsider who does not live or work in Africa, the conference was fascinating and inspiring. There are great things going on here, and expectations to the contrary are going to be very definitely broken."
