Alfredo ArnaudDr.Eng, Professor at Universidad Católica del Uruguay
Dr. Alfredo Arnaud: PhD(2004), MSc.(2000) in microelectronics. His area of expertise is analog and mixed-mode circuit design for implantable medical, and portable applications including RFID, medical, and compact/portable POS devices. Since 2004 he joined Electrical Engineering Department at Universidad CatÃ³lica del Uruguay, where he started uDIE research group (http://die.ucu.edu.uy/microdie). Dr.Arnaud wrote two patents and as an academic he published more than 80 papers in international journals and scientific meetings. He is the co-founder of three technology companies: BQN in 2004 (http://www.bqn.com.uy) dedicated to electronics & SW for RFID devices & traceability within de agribusiness industry among others, Chipmate in 2009 aimed at the design of application specific integrated circuits for medical devices and others, and ABM in 2018 (https://www.abmsolutions.com.uy/) providing R&D services. For the industry, Dr. Arnaud participated in design and consultancy in the field of electronics for companies in Uruguay, Brazil, Canada, and India including some FDA approved medical devices, a portable RFID reader according to ISO11784/11785 standard, and led the development of a vector scale for a physiotherapy VR system and an ASIC including all the analog functions of a multi-channel pacemaker-like implantable medical device.
