Allen is currently a Hardware Architect at Esperanto Technologies and chair of the RISC-V Compliance Task Group.
Allen has worked with microprocessors for the past 45 years, from Apple I & II, and Aquarius, HP PA-RISC, ARM, DEC StrongArm and Alpha, and Intel Xeon processors. He’s gradually migrated from core and instruction set design into “uncore” system design.
He has also been chair of the IEEE Technical Committee on Microprocessors and Microcomputers, which holds the Hot Chips, Cool Chips, Hot Interconnects, and Multi-Core SOC conferences and is active in organizing them.
